Fernando Valenzuela (Mexico)

Fernando Valenzuela Migoya is a recognized leader in Latin America and an expert in digital transformation processes. During his 30-year career, he has carried out multiple global executive positions in companies like Hewlett Packard, EDS, Ticketmaster and McGraw Hill. Fernando has also been involved with Education for over 28 years as professor and director of various institutions. Fernando currently leads projects focused on the transformation of the education ecosystem in Latin America, leading the education program of the Aspen Institute in México, as partner in EdtPartners and founder of Edlatam Alliance. Fernando is a well-known mentor of education focused start-ups and member of multiple initiatives linked to social impact through education and inclusion.

He was a professional football player and obtained his certification of professional football coach in 2005 by the Mexican Federation of Professional Football.  

 

Fernando has led the creation of the Inter-American Association of Edtechs (IAAE).

Juanita Ordoñez Fernandez (Mexico)

Juanita has a strong connection with the Edtech ecosystem in Mexico, acting as the co-founder of ProTalento, Education for Employability platform and managing the community of Edlatam Alliance, the biggest Edtech community of Latin America. In addition, she is mentor, advisor and judge of Endeavor, Google for Startups, New Ventures, Mass Challenge and Mujeres Unidas por la Educación.

For over 15 years, Juanita has developed go-to-market endeavours as an advertiser, agency, and media team member of top leading multinational companies including Google, Danone and GlaxoSmithKline.

Thiago Payva (Brazil)

Thiago has been VP of Education for Latin America at HolonIQ, a prominent education consulting and data analytics company. There, he led key projects in the region such as the development of reports including “Educational Technology in Latin America and the Caribbean” and “Digital Transformation in Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean,” in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB/IDB LAB). He also curated the 2021 Latam Edtech 100 list, enhanced brand awareness, attracted global customers interested in Latam, and conducted analysis of Latin American markets.
Before joining HolonIQ, Thiago was the Director of Business Development at Ilumno, a holding of universities based in the US with a presence in several countries in the region.

Thiago has led the creation of the Inter-American Association of Edtechs (IAAE).

Sibylle de la Chapelle (France and Mexico)

Sibylle de La Chapelle is a French mom – entrepreneur passionate about Education. She has been in Mexico for eighteen years and during her career, she has had focused on commercial and marketing roles and development of new products including UVM and Talisis.


Sibylle is currently founder and partner of ScoolUP, a start-up that boosts education innovation in education institutions in Latam. She has been recognized by Education Influence, a global community of Education influencers and is part of the Network of Women for Education of Mexico: MUXED.

 

Sibylle is a strong supporter of gender equality and access to education for women. She is a mentor for women at Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, member of Freely Woman, which supports women entrepreneurs in Guadalajara, and Women Tech Startup Director in Geniall, where she develops training programs for women entrepreneurs in Latam and Spain.

 

Sibylle leads the Mexico country chapter of the Inter-American Association of Edtechs (IAAE).

Juan Freyre (Spain and Mexico)

Juan is a Spanish national living between Spain and Mexico. He has had multiple leading roles related to education innovation including digital transformation of universities. Juan has co – funded 10 companies and start-ups focused on education, sustainability, technology, innovation and design. He is currently business partner at Eutika, which coordinates a network of organizations and experts that focus on developing innovation labs and digital ecosystems for Higher Education and Lifelong Learning companies. Juan is a Research Fellow of the European Innovation Hub of the Institute for the Future of Education, at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Andrea Voto-Bernales (Peru)

Andrea is a multilingual professional with more than 15 years of experience in cross border business development, stakeholder management and project design. She is passionate about education and a fan of Latin America and its people.

Andrea is an expert in international education and has led the education portfolio of Canada and Australia in Latin America. She has also worked for the World Bank and the British Council in Peru leading technical assistance projects.

She is board member of two education focused NGO’s in Peru.

Andrea leads the Peru country chapter of the Inter-American Association of Edtechs (IAAE).
